Staking APR is an annualized percentage rate used to describe staking rewards without assuming that those rewards are reinvested. APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate.
If the APR is 10%, a simplified interpretation is that under unchanged conditions a user could receive rewards equivalent to approximately 10% of the initial stake over one year. In an actual protocol, the rate can change because of issuance, total network stake, participation levels, and other parameters.
APR is useful for describing a base annualized rate without compounding. APY can be used when the calculation assumes repeated reinvestment. Neither metric necessarily captures changes in the token's market price, commissions, penalties, or withdrawal restrictions.
