GPU rig is a type of mining rig in which multiple graphics processors operate simultaneously under the control of a single system.

The main purpose of a GPU rig is to combine multiple graphics cards into a single computing configuration. GPUs are connected to the motherboard through appropriate interfaces, and stable operation requires sufficient electrical power and effective cooling.

Typical GPU Rig Structure

  • multiple graphics cards;
  • motherboard;
  • central processing unit;
  • RAM;
  • storage device;
  • one or more power supplies;
  • frame;
  • cooling components.

When a large number of graphics cards are used, risers may be used to physically position GPUs away from the motherboard and simplify the rig's layout.

GPU rig configuration includes selecting clock frequencies, power limits, and memory parameters. Undervolting and underclocking can be used to reduce power consumption.
