A deposit is an operation that adds funds to a crypto exchange account. Depending on the platform, a deposit may involve sending cryptocurrency to a provided deposit address or adding fiat currency through a supported payment method.

For a cryptocurrency deposit, the user selects an asset and network and receives an address or another required identifier. The sender creates a transaction, which is eventually included in a block. After receiving the required number of confirmations, the exchange may credit the deposit.

What to verify before depositing

  • the correct asset;
  • the supported network;
  • the destination address;
  • any required memo, tag, or additional identifier;
  • the minimum deposit amount.

Sending an asset to an unsupported network or incorrect address can result in delayed or lost funds. Deposit details should therefore be checked immediately before sending.
